Dad Blasts Daughter With Shot Gun For Marrying Without Permission

A young Turkish woman has been shot and critically injured by her father after she turned up to ask for his blessing for her marriage to a local businessman.

Kadriye Tengiz, 20, had fallen in love with Oytun Safa Tengiz, 30, who was her father’s business partner and when the dad refused to sanction the relationship – they ran away and married anyway.

They then set up their own organic farming business but she missed her parents, and so went back with her new husband to meet her dad and ask him to forgive them.

However, police say that he invited her inside and then took a shotgun, and blasted her in the chest and head in the garden when she refused to divorce her new husband of only three months.

He then went into the house, apparently attempting to kill his former business partner, but the 30-year-old man managed to escape and raise the alarm with police.

Dad Alphan Akcaoz, 52, living in the southwestern Turkish province of Denizli, has now been arrested on murder charges. The legally owned shotgun which he had has also been seized.
