Turkish Man Smashes Glass On Wifes Head And Stabs Her With Fruit Knife In Middle Of Cafe

This is the moment a Turkish man smashes a glass against his estranged wife’s head and tries to stab her with a fruit knife before brawling with a couple who come to the woman’s rescue in the middle of a cafe.

The incident was filmed in the town of Soma in the Turkish province of Manisa at around 6pm on 28th June during a meeting between the couple after they separated three months ago and were in the process of divorcing.

The mother of three children, identified as I.O., met her estranged husband, T.C., in the cafe with their four-month-old baby.

When the man attacked his ex-wife, a couple at a nearby table intervened and became embroiled in a fight as the victim protected her baby with blood running down her face.

Police and medical teams were sent to the scene and the woman was taken to hospital where she is said to be in a good condition.

The couple that defended her received minor injuries that were treated at the scene.

Cafe worker Murat Ince said: “Everything happened in 15 seconds. I was with customers at the checkout.

“They sat there for about an hour before the fight. The man got up and hit his wife with a glass. There was a knife on the table, but thank God it wasn’t sharp. He tried to use it.

“A man sitting at a nearby table intervened. I caught him while he was running out. We then called the police. Shop owners in the area tried to lynch the man, but we calmed the situation down. We then handed him over to the police.”

The victim has since been released from hospital, while her husband remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
