Turkish officials are investigating the death of a blonde Ukrainian translator which they have provisionally classified as a suicide despite the fact that she died with her hands tied behind her back by handcuffs and a plastic bag over her head.

Blonde blue-eyed Ukrainian Kristina Novytska, 25, who also works part-time as a dance instructor, was found dead in her home where she lived alone in the southwestern Turkish city of Mugla’s Bodrum district at around 4.30pm on 3rd January.

The body was discovered when the neighbours who had not heard from Kristina Novytska for two days raised the alarm.

Entering the house with a locksmith’s help, the landlord found Kristina Novytska on a chair, her hands tied behind her back with handcuffs and a plastic bag over her head.

Emergency and police teams were dispatched to the scene and could only confirm that she was dead.

It was learned that the police teams investigating the crime scene considered the incident to be a suicide due to details such as the door being locked from the inside, the key being on the door and the windows of the house closed.

However back home a friend of hers told local media in Kyiv that they did not believe she had committed suicide.

The young woman who was a graduate of the Kiev National Linguistic University spoke fluent Turkish.

After the public prosecutor’s examination, Kristina’s body was sent to the Mugla Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to determine the exact cause of death.

Police in their report noted that she had been somebody that suffered from frequent migraines for which she travelled back to Ukraine for treatment, and they suspect that this might have been the reason that she committed suicide.

Police teams that started an investigation into the incident took the testimony of 2 people and examined the security camera records in the surrounding area.

The investigation is continuing.
