A Prince Charming that this young woman met online has going on trial for trying to murder her when she tried to dump him, after discovering he was already married with a family.

Blonde Zeliha Atlar, 27, living in the district of Edremit in the Turkish province of Balikesir, met Serdal Gursel, 43, on social media in March last year.

But when Zeliha found out he was married after two months, she tried to leave him, but was stunned when he turned up at a house with a gun and told her what was in store for her if she ever dumped him.

She agreed to continue the relationship, but when the violence got worse she went to the police and filed a complaint.

However, as reported in the new site En Son Haber, police took little action over the threats which continued, and even got worse when he discovered that she had reported him to the police.

He then kidnapped her, and took her to a remote mountain location where he gave her a pickaxe and a shovel at gunpoint and told her to dig her own grave.

She said he told her” “I brought you here to kill you. I will bury you here.”

But after she begged for her life, he made a promise never to leave him again or complain about him, and then took her back home.

Zeliha then continued this relationship before again plucking up the courage to leave him, and telling him by phone that she did not want to see him again.

But instead of accepting it, Gursel took his gun and broke into Zeliha’s house on 10th October.

He then shot her while she was on her knees, with the bullet entering her neck and then passing out of her neck before then going through her collarbone and emerging from her armpit and embedding itself in the floor.

Believing he had killed her, he then fled, but ran into the young woman’s mother on the staircase, resulting in an altercation where he also tried to shoot her but missed.

He was later arrested by police alerted by neighbours about the gunfire, and the first hearing is now taken place in which he denies murder and the trial was adjourned to 27 September.

Gulser, who was caught and taken into custody by the police who came to the scene upon the notice, was arrested And the woman was hospitalised but is now recovering.

The first hearing of the case was held at the Burhaniye 2nd High Criminal Court on 23rd June.

The young woman has said that she is terrified if he is ever released, and said she had been told he had been boasting in jail about what he was planning to do with her when he got out.

She begged the court for her life, saying she did not want to die and asking him to get the maximum penalty for her attempted murder.
