A woman and a friend have been gunned down by her husband with a shotgun because he believed they were having an affair, and that she was ‘cheating on him’.

Gokmen Orhan, whose age was not given, claimed his young wife, Emel Orhan, had cheated on him as he surrendered to the cops in the city of Osmaniye, Southern Turkey last week.

He said that they had had a bust up in the morning over his belief she was cheating on him and that it had escalated and resulted in him shooting her dead with a legally registered shotgun.

He then crossed the city to hunt down the man he thought his wife was having an affair with, Mehmet Sahtemiz, and shot him through the window while he was sitting in his parked car.

Orhan then walked into the police station holding the gun and turned himself in, at which point emergency teams were dispatched.

Emel Orhan, who was immediately taken to hospital and then into the operating theatre, died despite all efforts.

Mehmet Sahtemiz, however, is still alive but continues to be in a serious condition in Osmaniye State Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
