This is the moment an influencer is attacked by her ex-partner inside her home after she secretly installed cameras to record the ongoing violence.
Model Rau Botelho shared the footage on her social media to denounce the assaults on 6th January, with the video showing the man arguing with her and apparently hitting her before attacking her on a sofa, in the city of Canoas, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The video shows the man, who was not named, confronting Rau inside a room and apparently hitting her before the images cut to her lying on her back as he restrains her while she struggles to break free.
Rau said the recordings were made using security cameras she installed in the apartment following earlier episodes of violence.
She reported that the abusive behaviour began even before the relationship was made official and said the assaults started at an early stage.
According to her account, the incident captured on camera was triggered after the man accessed her mobile phone without permission and reacted angrily after seeing male contacts listed among her close friends.
She said the man attempted to suffocate her during the attack.
The footage circulated widely on social media and became part of the material analysed by police investigating the case.
Rau, who has almost 190,000 followers, said she has suffered both physical and psychological abuse during the relationship and stated that this was not the first time she had been attacked.
She also shared images of an earlier assault that she said occurred about three months earlier in Canoas.
Police said the suspect was arrested following the most recent incident, taken to a custody hearing and later released.
The court granted a protective measure in favour of the victim but despite the protective order, Rau said she does not feel safe.
The Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul confirmed the case is under investigation and said the images published online are being analysed to clarify the circumstances and determine responsibility.
