A Colombian influencer known online as “Carol The Warrior” has died aged 23 after documenting her battle with lung cancer on social media.
The death occurred at a clinic in Cali, Valle del Cauca Department, south-western Colombia, on 11th March.
Carolina Reyes, who was originally from Colombia’s Pacific region and the department of Choco, had built a large following online where she shared videos about her daily life, wellbeing and her health struggles with the disease.
Her death was confirmed through a statement posted on her official social media accounts by members of her team.
The message said: “With deep sorrow we inform the sensitive passing of our warrior… who was a brilliant person and a human being who never gave up in the face of any difficulty that came her way. We ask for prudence, empathy and love for her family and friends.”
According to reports in Colombian media, Reyes had been battling an aggressive form of lung cancer in the months before her death.
In October 2025, she told followers that she began suffering severe body pain and sought medical help after the symptoms worsened.
Doctors later detected fluid in her lungs and she underwent medical procedures to drain the liquid as well as surgery on her chest.
The influencer later publicly revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer and began sharing details of her treatment and recovery with followers online.
Throughout the following months, Reyes continued updating supporters about her condition, turning her health battle into a central part of her online content.
Her team said she died during the afternoon of 11th March after recently returning to Colombia from a trip to Brazil.
Born on 23 August 2002, Reyes became known online under the name “Carol The Warrior”, posting about resilience, wellbeing and her personal experiences.
She had around 210,000 followers on Instagram.
Following the announcement of her death, social media flooded with messages of grief and tributes from followers and other content creators expressing condolences to her family and close friends.
