A beautiful lawyer who was also a wellbeing influencer who had been trying to have children has died after suffering complications during an assisted reproduction procedure that left her brain dead.
Brazilian lawyer and wellbeing blogger Gabriela Martins Santos de Moura, 31, had been trying to get pregnant for two years with her partner when she underwent fertility treatment in the hope of having a child.

It was not revealed whether she was undergoing IVF or an egg retrieval procedure, but she never recovered and died at the Sirio-Libanes Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 24th February 2026, after eight days in intensive care.
Gabriela, who was originally from Teresina in the state of Piaui but lived in Sao Paulo with her husband, underwent the procedure on 17th February, Carnival Tuesday, when she suffered unspecified complications, according to local reports.
She went into cardiorespiratory arrest at a human reproduction clinic before being rushed to the Sirio-Libanes Hospital, where she remained in the ICU.
Despite medical efforts, doctors confirmed brain death a week later.
Her family authorised the donation of her organs and said in a statement shared on social media on 24th February: “It is with immense sadness that we communicate the passing of our Gabriela, whose brain death was confirmed today by the medical team.

“At this moment of pain, we are comforted to know that her love and generosity will remain alive through the decision to proceed with organ donation, a gesture of immense greatness that will bring hope and life to other people, just as she was.”
Gabriela was married to orthopaedic doctor Samuel Moura, and the couple had been trying to have children for two years.
She died one day after completing eight years of marriage.
Trained in law, she built an online following as a therapist focused on positive psychology, mindfulness and neuroscience, sharing content about quality of life and emotional wellbeing.
A memorial mass was held on Wednesday, 25th February, at the Santa Rita de Cassia Church in Sao Paulo.

Funeral details have not yet been released as the organ retrieval process was still underway at the time of writing.
