A popular singer’s daughter has been arrested for murder after a friend claimed that she saw her push her own mother out of the sixth-floor window.
Suspect Tugyan Ulkem Gulter was arrested in connection with the death of singer Gul Tut, 52, as prosecutors investigate what happened at the home in the district of Cinarcik in Yalova province in Turkey on 26th September.
Gul Tut, better known by her stage name Gullu. Was a well-known Turkish singer who became a household name in her country’s music scene.
She died after falling from the enclosed terrace window of her home on the top floor of a six-storey building, with CCTV footage from the home partially recording the events.
During the incident, a loud bang can be heard followed by screams before the daughter and her friend are seen apparently leaving the apartment.
An investigation was launched by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutors’ Office.

Police later detained Gulter and her friend Sultan Nur Ulu in Istanbul following technical and physical surveillance.
During questioning, Ulu told officers: “We were dancing when Gul walked to the window. At that moment, Tugyan hugged her from slightly above her knees and pushed Gul, causing her to lose her balance and fall. I was shocked.
“Afterwards, Tugyan told me, ‘Run.’ We ran downstairs.”
Officers claimed the pair were preparing to flee abroad and detained them with suitcases during an operation at an address in the district of Buyukcekmece in Istanbul on the evening of 9th December.
Gulter was later charged with ‘premeditated murder’ and was remanded in custody.
Ulu was released and is currently under house arrest while investigations continue.
The daughter reportedly said. “The truth will come out sooner or later. I am innocent.”

The investigation is continuing under a confidentiality order.
Gullu began performing at a young age and rose to prominence in the 1990s with her distinctive arabesque and fantasy music style and a string of successful albums and songs that resonated with audiences across Turkey.
Fans and fellow artists remembered her for her powerful voice and heartfelt performances. That helped make her one of the country’s cherished music figures.
